Few cities -- from the Old World -- represent the old and the new like Berlin. But I am concerned with how cities and nations are positioned for the future, for the Great Leveling.
Before I rank Berlin, here's a quick overview brought to you by the good people of Wikipedia:
Berlin is a major center of culture, politics, media, and science in Europe.[10][11][12] Its economy is primarily based on the service sector, encompassing a diverse range of creative industries, media corporations, congress and convention venues. Berlin serves as a continental hub for air and rail transport,[13][14] and is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the EU.[15] Other industries include optoelectronics, traffic engineering, IT, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, biomedical engineering, and biotechnology.
