Singapore

I do love Singapore. It's all the spice of Asia with none of the acid burn -- except for rent. I have been there a handful of times and am struck by its efficiency, its wealth, its (relative) openness, and the hushed complains of some of its citizens regarding their highly paternalistic government. I expect the city-state to score very high on my Great Leveling algorithm for cities. Oh, and if you visit, definitelyi check out the nighttime zoo.

Singapore is a parliamentary republic, and the Constitution of Singapore establishes representative democracy as the nation's political system.^[18] The People's Action Party (PAP) dominates the political process and has won control of Parliament in every election since self-government in 1959.^[19]
